Join us for a film and discussion event that explores balancing self-care with caring for others during tough times.
Stick around after for a lively chat on how we juggle personal and family needs while staying connected to our community.
Children are welcome. To allow adult discussion, a craft-making space with adult supervision will be available for the duration of the event.
Agenda:
- 3:00 PM: Welcome experience
- 3:15 PM: Screening of “Room to Breathe” – This poignant film highlights the pandemic’s heightened challenges, especially the disproportionate burdens on women, setting the stage for a broader discussion.
- 3:45 PM: Professionally Facilitated Reflection Exercise – Engage in a guided exploration with our expert facilitator to discuss how we can cultivate empathy for ourselves alongside others. This session is a chance to reflect on your experiences and engage in meaningful dialogue about achieving equilibrium in our interconnected lives.

Film festival review: “The forced intimacy of the COVID-19 quarantine exposes the tensions and stress – and the joys and beauty – of family life for newlyweds Mary and Dave and their two children. A compellingly honest depiction of one D.C. family’s efforts at coping under extraordinary circumstances.”
